How to Create a Paper Sloyd Tray

Are you looking for a fun and easy craft for the kids to do? If so, our next video from Happy Handicrafts might be just the thing you are looking for! We are working through the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades by Ednah Anne Rich, and this is our 6th project. In this video we will show you how to create a paper sloyd tray.

This project requires just a few supplies – all of which I’m sure you will have handy. We make the videos very simplistic, so that a child of any age can follow along and learn with us! Just set up the video, and we’ll walk them through it step-by-step. Our goal is to give the homeschooling mom a little break, while the kids continue their education.

Paper sloyd is a great way to teach your kids about geometry and spatial awareness. It has many other benefits, too, which I’ve outlined in a blog post called, What is Sloyd? And Why is it a Valuable Tool in Home Education? I truly didn’t understand the value of sloyd until I put a few hours of research into it. I’m so glad I did! My children thoroughly enjoy making these projects, and they have no idea all of the skills they are gaining!

Gather up your materials and let’s learn how to create a paper sloyd tray!
