A Week of Celebration for Dr. Seuss

A Week of Celebration for Dr. Seuss

I don’t know when Dr. Seuss’ birthday became a big week-long event at school, but it did and I love it!  I look forward to it all year.  I love to see what dress-up ideas and activities the teachers are going to come up with.

This year we will be leaving on our vacation, so we will be missing the majority of the celebration, but we will be there for the “Dress-up-in-your-favorite-Dr. Seuss-character Day”!  This year we decided to be a red fish and a blue fish from the book “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.”  I crocheted them hats to look like aquarium bowls, then attached a bobbing fish to the top. I’m pretty sure that one day, the kids are going to see this and hate me for it, but in the meantime I think it’s hilarious.

Click HERE for a free download containing the fish. It is an 8×10″ printout. Print the front and the back and then glue them together over a pipe cleaner. I doubled up the pipe cleaner to make it a little firmer.
