Every once in a while, in our homeschool, I've noticed a recurring subject. Recently it's been the compass. It has come up in our history lessons, geography lessons, and science lessons. I love when it all comes together and the children make real connections between it all. To make the subject more alive, we decided to learn how to make a compass with simple household items. We started off by a fun little experiment with our magnets. Clark and Luci both assembled a few common household items that they thought would attract the magnets. They were surprised to find  what was drawn...

Clark and Luci have been loving watercolor paints recently, and I've been learning to make cards on my new Cricut Explore Air 2 that I got for Christmas. Today, we decided to combine our two current obsessions to show you how to make a St. Patrick's Day rainbow watercolor paint card for Clark and Luci's grandparents. We will be spending St. Patrick's Day with them, and what better way to them how excited we are to see them, than with a card for the occasion! Here are the supplies you will need: Heavy Watercolor PaperWatercolor PaintsPaintbrushBrown and Black Construction PaperGlueGold PaintBlack SharpieCricut...

Ever notice that there are flower bouquets for every season and reason, but not really for St. Patrick's Day? In fact, the stores where I live completely skip over this little holiday and have right on to Easter. To rectify this injustice, we have decided to make our own bouquet of shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day with coffee filters. I guarantee they'll last longer than your typical bouquet as well! Things you will need: Coffee FiltersPencilGreen Pipe CleanersGreen Food DyePaper Towels You can make as many shamrocks as you like - the more the merrier! Start by taking each coffee filter and dividing...

The day I was so fortunate as to be introduced to Young Living essential oils, was the day that I embarked on a life-changing adventure towards vibrant health and wellness. The essential oils have had an enormous impact on my life. I still have a long, long way to go, but I am grateful to now be going in the right direction. The funny part of this journey is, I was so excited about the oils, that I didn't even realize that Young Living had a TON of other products! Did you know that Young Living isn't all about essential...

If I would have fully understood what was involved in homeschool, I would guess that would have never undertaken it. I had not idea how incredible the task was. Since I began in ignorant bliss, I knew I had a lot to learn. I made it my responsibility to research as much as I could about the different philosophies of education, curriculum, styles, etc. Almost immediately, I was enamored with the Charlotte Mason approach. I began to look deeper into this philosophy. I was referred to For The Children's Sake: Foundations of Education for Home and School by Susan...

We all know that Young Living sets the world standard for quality and purity, but this doesn't just apply to their life-changing essential oils. Did you know that Young Living has food? We're talking healthy, delicious, nutritious food, that you're going to want to stock in your pantry every month! One of our favorite food products from Young Living is the einkorn flour. Einkorn is one of the oldest varieties of wheat, dating back to the beginning of time. It is not hybridized, like modern wheat. In fact, it contains only 14 chromosomes, as compared to the 42 found in modern...
