Holidays

In the summer of 2016, our family took a road trip to Utah to attend Young Living's International Grand Convention. We love road trips, but this one was extra-special as we were planning a stop at the Young Living Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah. As a family, we had been using Young Living essential oils for a couple of years, and it is not an exaggeration to say that we had fallen in love with them. So, our visit to the Young Living Lavender Farm was an experience that I'd been really looking forward to with an enormous amount of...

Clark and Luci have been loving watercolor paints recently, and I've been learning to make cards on my new Cricut Explore Air 2 that I got for Christmas. Today, we decided to combine our two current obsessions to show you how to make a St. Patrick's Day rainbow watercolor paint card for Clark and Luci's grandparents. We will be spending St. Patrick's Day with them, and what better way to them how excited we are to see them, than with a card for the occasion! Here are the supplies you will need: Heavy Watercolor PaperWatercolor PaintsPaintbrushBrown and Black Construction PaperGlueGold PaintBlack SharpieCricut...

Ever notice that there are flower bouquets for every season and reason, but not really for St. Patrick's Day? In fact, the stores where I live completely skip over this little holiday and have right on to Easter. To rectify this injustice, we have decided to make our own bouquet of shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day with coffee filters. I guarantee they'll last longer than your typical bouquet as well! Things you will need: Coffee FiltersPencilGreen Pipe CleanersGreen Food DyePaper Towels You can make as many shamrocks as you like - the more the merrier! Start by taking each coffee filter and dividing...

I know it's cheating, but I will often delay buying homeschool supplies and other necessities when I know that Christmas is just around the corner. Markers and paints, and paper, and glue make the best stocking stuffers! This year, however, we are already well-stocked with the usual art supplies and educational games, so I went on the hunt for some more unique and creative Christmas gifts for homeschoolers. I came up with some great stocking stuffers and gifts for under the tree! Let's Start with Stocking Stuffers 1. Insta-Snow Powder Insta-Snow Powder was a huge hit for us last year. We live in Texas, so...

I love the Christmas holidays!  We tend to drop back to just the basics in our homeschool.  This gives us all a much-needed break and it allows us time for the many activities that come along with the holidays. In our home, we love anything that is creative, so I’ve started leaving out crafting supplies for Clark and Luci.  I’d love if you visit my guest blog today over at My Joy-Filled Life, where I talk in a little more detail about simple Christmas crafts with Popsicle sticks. It never ends with just one craft, though.  Clark and Luci will work on...

I know that I cannot be the only Mom who worries about how to manage the Halloween aftermath. As we've become much more aware of what we are eating and feeding our children, the thought of my children downing buckets of candy on Halloween night absolutely horrifies me. My children are normally healthy and robust. I am blessed to say that we have not had a sick doctor visit in years. We are intentional about supporting our immune systems naturally. However, a recent experience brought me a reality check. Our family spent the night at a local hotel that housed a water park....
