How to Make a Needle-Felted Blue Bird of Happiness (Part 2 of 2)

In our last post, we started making a needle-felted blue bird of happiness. We completed shaping the body with wool, and today we are going to make the feet, the beak, and add some finishing touches. I am SO EXCITED to finish this little guy, and decide where we are going to put him on display. I’ve always wanted a blue bird of happiness to be perched somewhere in my home.

Happy Handicrafts Video: How to Make the Cutest Needle-Felted Blue Bird of Happiness (Part 2 of 2)

In this video, we introduced how to make bird’s feet and a beak. Our goal is that each project should grow in complexity, slowly leading the student to an increase in skill level with each project. We’ll often make different variations of the project, as well, trying different colors and designs, to see what works best. It’s also a chance to practice our skills.

Be sure to get the whole Needle-Felting series on our YouTube channel, Happy Handicrafts. There, we share our homeschool handicrafts so that others can find the same joy that we do. Enrichments, such as handicrafts, can often be put on the back burner, while other subjects are prioritized. We want to share the knowledge that creativity is just as important as math and reading and science. So head over to Happy Handicrafts, pick a series, and join us in crafting!
