13 Aug How to Make a Needle-Felted Fox (Part 2 of 3)
This is the second part of our needle-felted fox project. The first part of our sculpture was creating the armature. Although building an armature was a new experience for us, we found it important to remember that perfection is not the goal. That first layer of copper wire was soon going to be covered in undyed wool roving. So although this second part was a little time consuming, it was simple to complete. Just like the first layer, there is no need for perfection -that comes later! In this part we will simply be building out the body, neck and head of our fox. In our next video, we will be finishing the fox, applying all of the details. Ready? Come join the fun!

Happy Handicrafts Video: How to Make a Needle-Felted Fox (Part 2 of 3)
One of the best parts of needle-felting is that it is accessible to everyone. Of course your results will depend upon your developed skill. Like anything, you need to practice and work on developing those skills necessary for the craft. But even beginners can have success with needle felting. As we have found, if you feel you’ve made an error, or don’t like what you’ve done, it’s quite easy to pull off an ear, to reconstruct a nose, or to remove an eye and try again.
Believe me. We’ve done it a LOT.
In the end this is about learning a new art, craft, or skill, but it’s also about enjoying the journey. Needle-felting has given us many hours of joy. It’s something that you can do while sitting together and chatting, while watching TV, or while sitting poolside as the family enjoys the sun. How ever you choose to needle-felt, I hope you are finding joy in creativity.
