02 Nov How to Make a Whimsical Toadstool Scene with Needle Felting
For our final needle felting project, we wanted to do a whimsical scene involving toadstools and a fairy. This seemed like the ultimate needle felting experience and a great way to end our series. We decided to divide the project into two posts and two videos simply because of the time it would take to do it all. So the first part is going to be a whimsical toadstool scene with needle felting and second is going to be our fairy.
Online we had seen many of these examples of these delightful scenes, many with the scenes built into teacups and wine glasses. So we planned out our scene and took a trip to the secondhand store to see if we could find something for our scene. We decided on a little glass. Besides this, if you’ve been following along with us, you should already have all of the materials that you need for the project.
Materials Needed
- A teacup or wine glass (We got ours from the secondhand store.)
- Undyed wool roving
- A needle-felting mat
- A needle-felting kit
- A variety pack of wool roving
Happy Handicrafts Video: How to Make a Whimsical Toadstool Scene with Needle Felting
We found our whimsical toadstool scene with needle felting to be fairly quick and fun to make. Forming the ball reminded us of one of our first needle felting projects, How to Make Needle-Felted Dryer Balls with Wool Roving. Making the mushrooms was similar to making our little chicks. It’s really amazing to look back and see how far we’ve come with this handicraft! Skills that we thought were challenging have now become very simple!
Coming next is our last official project in our Needle Felting Series. I say official, because I know we are going to occasionally want to come back to this handicraft. It’s been so enjoyable for my daughter and myself to explore! We are going to conclude with our needle felted fairy. I hope you join us!
