12 Feb How to Make the Simplest Valentine’s Day Pompom Heart

We recently posted a blog post and video about How to Make Valentine’s Day Pompom Hearts. Although it presents a simple way to make pompoms, I thought I would show another way to make a simple pompom heart. This time, all you’re going to need is your hand, some yarn and a pair of scissors.

Materials Needed:

• Medium weight yarn in any color you like (we chose the typical Valentine’s Day colors of red, pink, and white)
• Scissors
• A hot glue gun with glue sticks (optional)
• A stir stick (optional)

I wound the yarn around my hand about 200 times. The more rounds you do, the fuller and fluffier the heart. For variety, you could also add in other colors, like we demonstrated in our last video. Get creative!

Once you’re finished your simple pompom heart, it’s time to decide how you’re going to decorate it, and what you’re going to do with it! We glued ours to a stir stick and tied it with a ribbon. I think it would make the perfect accessory to a Valentine’s Day gift! Or maybe we’ll make several more and put them together in a bouquet. What will you do with yours?
