15 Jan Luci Got a Scholarship to Mothers Day Out!
We’ve had a very excited little girl here for the past few days. Clark’s preschool offered Luci a fully paid scholarship into their Mothers Day Out program for 2 days a week. Luci had been dying to go to school with her big brother, so I happily accepted, knowing how excited she would be.
She talked about it non-stop, from the moment she awoke. I would hear her jump out of her bed in the mornings and announce over and over again: “I’m getting uu-uup! I’m going to schoo-ool!” This morning she sang: “I’m going to schoo-ool!” while getting dressed and the whole way down the stairs. She sang it while eating breakfast and while she so excitedly put on her new backpack.
Her sweet little song didn’t stop the whole way to school. Even as we got out of the car, she spotted Clark’s teacher and squealed: “DIANE! I’m going to schoo-ool!” We spent a little time together in her new classroom, getting comfortable. But the truth is, she was already pretty comfortable and didn’t seem to need me at all.
Half of me shares her excitement. The other half aches as I leave my sweet little baby in the hands of others.
School is over at 2pm in the afternoon. I may or may not have been there early, waiting impatiently for my babies. I found Luci sound asleep on her little sleep mat in the middle of the classroom, with all of the other children playing around her.
We Celebrated Our First Day With Frozen Yoghurt
On our way home we stopped at our favorite frozen yoghurt place. Clark and Luci always share their choices with each other.
Luci didn’t talk much about her day. I’m not convinced it was as amazing as she expected. For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
