05 Nov Rapunzel, Rapunzel! Let Down Your Hair Craft
I love this cute, simple little craft because it was completely Clark’s idea.
One afternoon, Clark had finished all of his homeschool work and was looking for something to do. One of the things I absolutely love about Clark and Luci is that they are the most brilliant, creative little beings. They don’t know the meaning of boredom because they always find creative ways to occupy their time.
On this afternoon, Clark came to me and asked me to help him develop an idea he had in his head. He wanted to create Rapunzel’s tower with a window for Rapunzel to look out. He had the idea to create a long braid out of yarn that Rapunzel could hang out the tower window.
He began by drawing a tower on a sheet of paper. Once he cut out the top of the tower, we glued the sides together to create a stand-alone tower.
He then set to work, drawing Rapunzel. He drew her from the chest up because she would be looking out the window. Then he cut three long pieces of yellow yarn and glued them to Rapunzel’s head.
Once the yarn was dry, we were able to braid Rapunzel’s hair into a beautiful, long braid to hang down the tower. We then cut a window into the tower, based on the size of Rapunzel’s head, then we glued Rapunzel into the window. Isn’t the final result adorable?
Try it with your kids! It’s so simple!
