Say Happy Valentine’s Day with a Heart-Shaped Envelope

There’s something special about giving a gift that you’ve made yourself. It shows that little extra effort, the extra thought, and extra time. As with any creation that you have made, it is giving a piece of yourself to another person, and being vulnerable to criticism. It doesn’t always have to be a herculean effort to convey your feelings, though. Today, because Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and because we have been doing so much paper sloyd, we are going to show you an extremely simple paper folding craft. We are going to show you how to say Happy Valentine’s Day with a heart-shaped envelope that is so easy to make that it doesn’t even need measurements!

Isn’t that crazy?! All you need is a paper and some scissors, and you can make any sized envelope for those you care about on Valentine’s Day! We made some regular-sized ones, as well as a couple miniature-sized ones for dolls and hamsters. Cause that’s totally normal, right?

If you enjoyed this short video, I invite you to come craft with us as we teach our children various useful arts and crafts. We make a video every week. We are currently working through the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades by Ednah Anne Rich. Our Happy Handicraft series of videos are specially created to help Homeschool Moms, who feel challenged in the crafting department. We are crafty, so you don’t have to be! Just set your kids up with the video and supplies – we’ve got you!

The best place to start is the first year of paper sloyd. This first year of paper sloyd lays the foundation for all future skills and crafting. And – you may just be surprised how much fun this can become!
