You Don’t Want to Leave Home Without These Travel “Essentials”

If you love essential oils as much as I do, I am willing to bet that you have a list of essential oils that you don’t want to leave home without. I have a little case of oils that stays in my purse – it’s my little travel pack for everyday needs, emergencies and for sharing with others. I never leave home without it. It would seriously be the equivalent to leaving my home without my wallet or cell phone. You know that feeling of borderline panic? Yeah. That.

With summer coming up, I know many of us are planning family vacations, so I wanted to share with you some of my family’s experience with how we incorporate Young Living into our daily lifestyle, even while on vacation. Vacation, for me, means I need to get stocked up on a few travel essentials. I refuse to be caught unprepared! My little travel pack contains the bare minimum of essential oils, and I know it’s not enough for a couple of weeks away from home. So here’s a list that will make you feel much better prepared for whatever a vacation brings.

My Top 10 Young Living Essential Oils for Travel

Thieves Vitality Essential Oil

This powerful essential oil blend is Number 1 when it comes to supporting our natural immunity. We use Thieves every single day to help us stay healthy. While on vacation, it’s even more important that we continue with this routine!

Purification Essential Oil

Hotel rooms horrify me. My mind seriously explodes with thoughts of what creepy-crawlies are in these rooms and the chemicals that are used in cleaning them. Purification is my favorite essential oil to freshen up a hotel room or a stale vehicle while travelling for hours. It is also a great option if your vacation is going to involved lots of outdoor time.

Digize Vitality Essential Oil

Ok, Digize is definitively not my favorite smelling oil, but I love it anyways because it’s so effective! We use this blend to support a healthy digestive tract. All kinds of digestive issues can arise when travelling, and I have no intention of allowing this to ruin our vacation! We use Digize when eating new foods, in new places and while on road trips to help the children feel calm and relaxed during long car rides.

Peppermint Vitality Essential Oil

We use Peppermint any time we use Digize. It covers the smell of Digize (did I mention it’s not my favorite smell?) and is also very soothing to the digestive tract when eating differently or when travelling. It is also refreshing and rejuvenating, and helps me stay alert while driving. Plus, I just love Peppermint and that’s reason enough, right?

Cedarwood Essential Oil

I do not sleep well in hotel rooms. This is my go-to essential oil for relaxation in the evening. It is incredibly calming and soothing, ensuring we get a great night’s sleep so we can enjoy our days in the sun to the fullest.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender is known as the “Swiss Army Knife” of essential oils, so I’m not about leave this tool at home! It is very soothing to the skin, which may be helpful after longs days on the beach. It is also very relaxing for children who are confined to car seat for an entire day of travel.

Lemon Vitality Essential Oil

A little drop of Lemon in your water is so refreshing and it helps you stay awake and alert while driving. It also eliminates odors and helps to create a happy atmosphere during long car rides.

Peace & Calming Essential Oil

This is a gentle, sweet blend of essential oils, that is a wonderful addition to my travel pack. It creates a relaxing environment for travel, especially in a car with kids for extended times. It’s also one of our favorites for our evening routine, especially in new environments when it’s a little more difficult to settle down and sleep.

Valor Essential Oil

Vacations are all about relaxing and trying something new, right? I love to use Valor first thing in the morning to help me face the day with a positive attitude.

Stress Away Essential Oil

We are going on a vacation to relax.  Mainly because I NEED to relax and it is not something I’m good at. Because of this, Stress Away essential oil is a blend I use every single day and I’m not about to stop! Besides, road trips with kids are not always the most pleasant experiences. Let’s be honest!

In addition to essential oils, I also have several essential Young Living supplements and products that I strongly recommend taking with you while travelling. Believe me when I say I had some trouble paring this down to just ten items!

This is an awesome way to stay clean and fresh while in the car and at the countless, often horrifying rest stops. This is gentle and soothing on the hands and has a delish smell as well.

NingXia Red / Nitro

NingXia Red is a powerful antioxidant drink which provides the body with a whole-body nutrient infusion. It also supports energy levels and overall wellness, which is so important to be able to enjoy your vacation days to the fullest. I like to add a shot of Nitro when I need a midday boost. It’s a delicious way to get an energy boost, both mentally and physically.

Vacation, for us, means lots of outdoor play and sun, so sunscreen is a must. Young Living’s Mineral Sunscreen is made with ingredients that you can feel good about, and it is the most effective sunscreen we have ever used. Believe me, we’ve put it to the test!

Listen. You never know what you’re going to be eating on vacation. Sometimes it’s grabbing fast food, sometimes it’s something suspicious from a street vendor, and sometimes it’s a 12 course meal. You need to be prepared for the consequences. Young Living has several different types of enzymes. Choose which suits your needs the best. Just believe me – enzymes are your best friend.

An Essential Oil Diffuser

There are a ton of ways to simulate a diffuser while on vacation, if you prefer not to carry one. You can place an essential oil soaked cotton ball in the car vent or you can drape an essential oil-soaked cloth over the air conditioner in a hotel room. I prefer to bring a small essential oil diffuser because it’s convenient and I know the essential oils are reaching the entire family.

Essential oils are available for us to enable to enjoy our lives to a greater degree. So, enjoy your next vacation and use these beautiful tools to enhance those memory-creating moments!
