Starting the kids back to school is the PERFECT time to start adopting some better choices that will impact your family’s health! It’s a time of new beginnings, and parents tend to be very aware of the need for adopting a healthy lifestyle that facilitates focus and attention, sleep, and ultimately, education.
Please be aware that the information shared in this class is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any illness, nor is it meant to replace professional medical attention or advice. In this class, I will be referring to Young Living Essential Oils ONLY. These are the only oils that I use and recommend because of their purity, quality, safety and effectiveness.
If you have not yet gone through the Introduction to Essential Oils class, I highly recommend that you do that first. The Introduction class is designed to help those of you who are wanting to get started and learn the basics of essential oils.
To briefly summarize, essential oils are powerful, natural, liquids found within shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, resins, and seeds. Some people like to call essential oils “nature’s living energy” because they contain unique constituents that provide a host of benefits.
Essential oils are versatile, with a wide variety of uses. Some people use essential oils to enliven an environment, support different body systems, or just for their great scents. Young Living’s essential oils can be used aromatically, topically and internally, depending on the labeling on each individual bottle.
Young Living is a wellness company. They are all about teaching us about MAINTAINING our health and vitality by supporting the body’s natural processes. Waiting until you or your child gets sick is NOT the time to turn to Young Living and essential oils!
The best, most effective way to use essential oils is to integrate them into your lifestyle and your daily routine. You will see impressive results when you are intentional about building health and strengthening the immune system. Get the whole family involved. Encourage each member of the family to use essential oils at each opportunity. This class is all about integrating essential oils and supplements into your daily life so that your children are equipped to withstand the challenges of going back to school.
It is also important to stock up on the necessities. This is important for a couple of reasons:
Healthy lifestyle practices start when you wake up. How do you start your day? This can be one of the more challenging parts of the day, but it doesn’t have to be! There are some great ways to energize yourself and your family naturally while at the same time equipping them to face the day. Try diffusing any of the following essential oils as your family gets up and ready.
We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can get started off on the right foot by incorporating the Vitality Essential Oils such as Cinnamon Bark, Orange, Lemon or Tangerine into your morning breakfast routine, into your water, a smoothie, oatmeal or pancakes etc.
Young Living has several delicious and nutritious meal options for breakfast as well. Crepes made with Gary’s True Grit Einkorn Pancake & Waffle Mix and the Einkorn Granola a sure to be a hit with your family. We often make crepes with the Einkorn Flour as well. Einkorn is known as the oldest variety of wheat. Its’ natural genetic code and low gluten levels make it a superior choice because of the compatibility with the human body when compared to the modern hybrid wheat of today. Einkorn grain is easier to digest, so nutrients are better absorbed, leading to longer-lasting fullness for your children going to school.
The Slique Shake is a fantastic option for Moms on the go.
Ningxia Red is a great addition to any morning routine or as an afternoon pick-me-up. NingXia Red is an antioxidant drink made from the NingXia wolfberry, essential oils and other juices to deliver a whole-body nutrient infusion. Taken daily it will provide sustained energy, fortify, and revitalize the body and support overall health and wellness, from head to toe. For an extra cognitive boost, combine with 1 tube of NingXia NITRO.
I have been drinking NingXia Red ever since I started with Young Living. This is the Number 1 supplement to consider with Young Living. I find that it affects the entire body, and I notice a big difference if I miss my daily dose!
Now, not everyone is excited to be starting school. I will never forget when I began taking my three year old daughter to Mother’s Day Out. She was normally friendly and outgoing, but it’s a little different leaving your Mom for hours. So, to ease the transition, I always applied Valor and Peace & Calming. Things were going well until one day I forgot to apply the oil. When it came time to drop my daughter off, she burst into tears. By the time I drove away, I’m not sure who the bigger mess was. In fact, as I drove home, I resolved to take her out of Mother’s Day Out. When I got home, I realize that I had forgotten to apply her “school oils,” as she called them. Let’s just say, I never forgot again!
Find what essential oils work for your children for the first day jitters. Our family’s favorites for emotional support are still Valor and Peace & Calming. I suggest using them for Mom AND the kids!
On a side note, these essential oil blends are both great examples of why you will want to stock up on your necessities. Both Valor and Peace & Calming are extremely popular blends and they both contain essential oils that were particularly hard to source. As a result they were out of stock for months at a time. Don’t get caught without them – stock up while you can!
Everyone has heard about Thieves! This is a really popular blend of essential oils for good reason! This blend was inspired by the legend of four 15th-century French thieves who formulated a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals they used while robbing the dead and dying.
Young Living’s one-of-a-kind Thieves blend, crafted in the spirit of that legendary combination, can be found in all of the Thieves products. This incredible blend supports healthy immune function, and it includes Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil, which may help maintain a healthy respiratory system. Thieves is an ideal complement to a daily wellness regimen.
Most people know about Thieves essential oils, but did you know that there is an entire line of Thieves products? The Thieves line covers oral care for the entire family, laundry soap, dish soap and a wide range of cleaning products for the home and classroom. A couple of pocket-sized products that would fit perfectly in backpacks are the Thieves Spray for cleaning public toilets or any other unsanitary surface, and the Thieves Waterless Hand Sanitizer (a gentle, chemical free alternative to the harsh and toxic hand sanitizers). I absolutely LOVE these products! And wouldn’t they make AWESOME teacher gifts?
Sports are a big deal in school! It’s also a big deal to keep your children’s bone, muscles and ligaments fortified and strong. Young Living has many products created to support the skeletal system naturally.
I don’t know about you, but I can still remember STARVING when getting home from school. Children need some SERIOUS nutrition after a long day at school. Here are some delicious, healthy snacks that will provide sustained energy for adults AND children until dinner time.
The snacks we just talked about set your child up to either getting some physical activity in or getting some homework done. After a long day in school, it can be difficult to sit down to do homework. Here are some essential oils to diffuse to help with focus and concentration.
I don’t know about your kids, but mine are not fans of bedtime. Like it or not, we know only too well that if you don’t get a good night’s sleep, the morning is not going to be pretty, right? Thankfully, we have essential oils, which are a beautiful way to calm and relax the entire family.
I will often start my children’s bedtime routine with a relaxing bath infused with essential oils. My favorite combination is to mix about ½ cup Epsom salts with 5 drops of Lavender and 2 drops of Peace & Calming. Shake it up and dump it in a warm bath. My children love this – and I do too! It is very soothing and relaxing and the aroma lingers for hours. I can’t think of a better way to unwind before bedtime!
One thing I know for sure is that good sleep is part of the foundation for our children’s success in school. Diffusing essential oils throughout the night in your children’s bedrooms (and yours!) can make an incredible difference by creating a restful environment, resulting in better quality and quantity of sleep.
Our favorite is a combination of Lavender, Peace & Calming and Cedarwood. However, since everyone responds differently to essential oils, what works for us may not necessarily work for you. Here are a few options for you to consider:
Does this help you feel a little better equipped to support your family’s health and wellness this school year? Just remember, you can’t use what you don’t have! If you have not had the opportunity to get started with Young Living as a Wholesale Member, now is your chance! The Premium Starter Kit is how I got started because you get the most bang for your buck. It contains many of the essential oils we talked about today, lots of samples, information and your choice of a diffuser – everything you will need to get started learning and using essential oils!
One last thing before you leave – you need to know about Essential Rewards! Essential Rewards is Young Living’s loyalty program that PAYS you for making healthy living a lifestyle! I like to make it clear that this is not your usual autoship program, so hear me out – it has a lot of benefits:
