I know there are a million great playdough recipes out there. Each recipe has their own little spin on it to make it unique. Well, friends, you are not going to beat this one! This is how to make chill out playdough with your essential oils, and I'm going to guess that you Moms will especially love this recipe as summertime approaches. Essential oils are big in our family. I use them for everything, and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING! We use them when cleaning the house, cooking, supporting our physical health, mental health, even our emotional well-being. One of my favorite...

Clark and Luci have been loving watercolor paints recently, and I've been learning to make cards on my new Cricut Explore Air 2 that I got for Christmas. Today, we decided to combine our two current obsessions to show you how to make a St. Patrick's Day rainbow watercolor paint card for Clark and Luci's grandparents. We will be spending St. Patrick's Day with them, and what better way to them how excited we are to see them, than with a card for the occasion! Here are the supplies you will need: Heavy Watercolor PaperWatercolor PaintsPaintbrushBrown and Black Construction PaperGlueGold PaintBlack SharpieCricut...

Ever notice that there are flower bouquets for every season and reason, but not really for St. Patrick's Day? In fact, the stores where I live completely skip over this little holiday and have right on to Easter. To rectify this injustice, we have decided to make our own bouquet of shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day with coffee filters. I guarantee they'll last longer than your typical bouquet as well! Things you will need: Coffee FiltersPencilGreen Pipe CleanersGreen Food DyePaper Towels You can make as many shamrocks as you like - the more the merrier! Start by taking each coffee filter and dividing...

We are just 2 days away from the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse, and I'm probably the only person left on the planet who hasn't bought the necessary glasses. It's a huge homeschool fail, I know. I see all the homeschoolers around me ramping up for the big event, drafting elaborate unit studies, inspiring excitement and anticipation. And me? When I finally get around to thinking about it, there are no solar eclipse glasses to be found. So, in true DIY fashion, we are going to make our own solar eclipse pinhole viewers. With young children, the solar eclipse pinhole viewers are maybe a better...

I love the Christmas holidays!  We tend to drop back to just the basics in our homeschool.  This gives us all a much-needed break and it allows us time for the many activities that come along with the holidays. In our home, we love anything that is creative, so I’ve started leaving out crafting supplies for Clark and Luci.  I’d love if you visit my guest blog today over at My Joy-Filled Life, where I talk in a little more detail about simple Christmas crafts with Popsicle sticks. It never ends with just one craft, though.  Clark and Luci will work on...

I’ve officially now seen a wedding invitation on Facebook. Is this what the world is coming to? I know I’m getting older and sometimes I don’t get the younger generation, but this was a bit much. So much of our communication is done by text and social media. I can’t even deny that I’m a part of this. It’s so much easier to have a conversation via text at my leisure (meaning when the kids aren’t being hoodlums) than hiding in the bathroom with my phone while they pound on the door. Who chats for hours on the phone anymore? Who writes...
