How to Manage Working Full Time With Young Children
Mondays are a killer for me. I work full-time nights. That's 12 hours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A Field Trip to the Aquarium
What greater way to finish up our study of jellyfish than a trip to the aquarium?! We teamed up with a local homeschool group for a nice discount to visit an aquarium downtown. Luci Wanted Flashcards So We Obliged
I'm not too into flash cards, but on a little trip to the Dollar Store yesterday, Luci saw some labeled with "ABC" and got so excited about recognizing the letters that we couldn't resist buying them for her. I also worry that sometimes I get so focused on Clark's education that she feels left out in the process. This time I got Clark involved and had him show her the cards, while she named the letter and sound. If she wasn't sure, Clark would help her out. It was adorable. Bat-a-Bug: The Best Sight-Word Game Ever!
I just have to say: “I love my new laminator!!!” I've been asking other Moms and bloggers for their favorite laminator and everyone's choice, hands down, was the Scotch brand Thermal Laminator. Oh the things you discover…! As I’ve been researching homeschooling, I keep coming back to the English educator, Charlotte Mason from the late 1800s and her methods. Her approach to education rings so true and I strongly believe that it would be extremely effective for my children.
