16 Apr How to Create a Paper Sloyd Diamond-Shaped Bookmark
YOU GUYS! WE DID IT!!! As of today, we have completed every single model from the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades by Ednah Anne Rich! Today we will be making a paper sloyd diamond-shaped bookmark, which is the 14th supplementary model – the 60th – and final model. I am so excited about this achievement because it represents YEARS of work, a massive amount of new skills, a ton of hard work. It has brought some beautiful creativity into our lives, and presented the possibility of so much more. We have absolutely loved every aspect of this learning adventure. Despite being relieved that we’ve come to the end, I have a little sadness, because we have enjoyed it so much.
Materials Needed
- The book, Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades by Ednah Anne Rich
- A hole punch
- An Exacto knife
- A pencil
- A metal ruler
- A piece of good quality cardstock, we are using a piece of metallic scrapbook paper
- A cutting mat
Happy Handicrafts Video: How to Create a Paper Sloyd Diamond-Shaped Bookmark
This paper sloyd diamond-shaped bookmark was a nice and simple way to end the book. Many of these supplementary models had caused us some significant frustration, so I was glad we didn’t have to end this way. I also really love that I will have a lot of use for this project.
Did you notice Grandma Parsnips’ little mermaid bookmark? She loves reading as much as we do.
Don’t you think that these bookmarks would make a lovely gift? Next time you give someone a book, include one of your special bookmarks. I’m certain they will love it!
I want to complete this paper sloyd series with so much gratitude to everyone who has crafted along with us. You are the reason that we have created these blog posts and videos. I hope each Homeschool Mom that has come across our blog and Happy Handicrafts channel has found some respite and help.
