How to Create a Paper Sloyd Pinwheel

Does your family enjoy crafting? We sure do! In our latest video, we will show you how to create a paper sloyd pinwheel. This is a great craft for kids of all ages and it teaches some important skills too. Sloyd is a type of manual training that was developed by Charlotte Mason. It has many benefits, which we discuss in a recent blog post, titled What is Sloyd? And Why is it a Valuable Tool in Home Education?

If you’ve been following along in our video series, you’ll know that we are working through the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades by Ednah Anne Rich. We’ve been creating each project together and posting the process on our YouTube channel, Happy Handicrafts.

As we grow Happy Handicrafts, we hope it can become a wonderful resource for Homeschool Moms, who are needing a little help. Sometimes us Moms can get so busy that we cut out certain subjects that we may view as not 100% necessary – like sloyd. But I’ve learned that this is a huge loss. So we are here to help! Moms can simply set their children up with our YouTube channel, and we will walk them through the projects.

This paper sloyd project uses simple materials and tools – all of which you will probably have in your homeschool. So grab some paper and let’s get started with the tutorial to create your very own paper sloyd pinwheel.
