15 Mar How to Create a Simple Saint Patrick’s Day Wreath
With Saint Patrick’s Day approaching, I wanted to brighten up the house with some fun decorations. I realized, however, that I had absolutely no Saint Patrick’s day themed decor at all! So, together with my daughter, we set out to create a simple Saint Patrick’s day wreath. We have a set of small doors leading into our homeschool, and we thought it would be the perfect way to add a splash of color to this space – so we actually made two! One for each door.
This project is super simple. Most of the materials we already had, and those that we did not, we got at our local craft store for very cheap. It’s also something that can be made by any age group. It has plenty of scissor practice – just be careful with that hot glue! I always end up with at least one burn when I use it.
Materials Needed
- A premade grapevine wreath (we got 2 small ones because we wanted to display them on the 2 small doors of our homeschool room)
- Different shades of green construction paper (we got 6 different shades, as well as some glitter paper)
- Shamrock templates (We just Googled and found ours, you can also draw your own. Just make sure to have some good, thick cardstock to draw or print them on.)
- A pencil
- A pair of scissors (not pictured – sorry!)
- A hot glue gun and some glue
Happy Handicrafts Video: How to Create a Simple Saint Patrick’s Day Wreath
Our Happy Handicraft videos are created specifically to help Homeschool Moms with their handicrafts. We walk students through every step of the creative process, giving Moms the opportunity to sit down for a cup of well-deserved coffee. Just set your kids up with the video, gather the supplies needed, and we’ll take it from there.
Remember, we’re not aiming for perfection. Our goal is to enjoy being creative, and experiencing the joy of a job well-done.
Grandma Parsnip created a Saint Patrick’s Day wreath right along with us! She’s the loveable Grandma that likes to show up in our videos, usually sharing snarky comments and a little chaos.
If you enjoyed crafting with us, I hope you will join us for more! We post at least one video per week at Happy Handicrafts, as we work through different craft books and projects. If you are looking for a varied handicraft curriculum for your homeschool, come and check us out! We’d love to have you join us!
