18 Oct How to Create Paper Sloyd Book Sheets
Last week, in our paper sloyd video series, we made a paper sloyd book cover. Today, we are making Project 13 from the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades. This project is the second half of the paper sloyd book cover – we will be making paper sloyd book sheets, otherwise known as pages. After all, you can’t have a book without book sheets!
Creating paper sloyd book sheets, and putting them into our book cover has probably been our favorite paper sloyd project so far! Once you are able to make one of these book, you can certainly figure out how to make many of them of all different sizes! Already we are using ours as nature journals, special studies, etc.
Materials Needed
For this project you are going to need:
- Project 12: Book Cover
- Regular copy paper, 4 or more pieces of 8.5″ x 11″
- A pencil
- A ruler
- Scissors
- Book binding thread, or any other thick, sturdy thread
- An awl, or other sharp object to puncture holes
- A sturdy, large-eyed needle
The Happy Handicraft Video Series
If you are a homeschool mom, I hope you’ve had the opportunity to see one of our paper sloyd videos. My two children and I are making videos of each project from the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades, with the purpose of teaching other homeschoolers. We know from experience that homeschooling moms don’t always have the time to dedicate to handicrafts, so we created Happy Handicrafts. Just get your students set up with the materials, and we’ll do the rest!
