We’ve been reading the book, How to Make an Apple Pie and see the World as part of our homeschool curriculum. Of course, learning about apples was a logical part of this study, but when I told Clark and Luci that we were going to learn about, their response was: “What?! Here’s a super simple craft for your young ones.  It’s a great way to help learn the Letter A, as well as the differences between a capital or lower case Letter A.  It’s a little labor-intensive with the scissors, but very doable.  We have been reading the book, How to Bake an Apple Pie and See the World, and this little craft made for an enjoyable afternoon together.  Or actually it took a couple of afternoons, because it’s no easy to cut out all those apples! After taking some time off from Five in a Row, we are back, studying The Glorious Flight by Alice and Martin Provensen.  I chose this book because Clark has been asking some very specific questions recently about airplanes and how they fly.  So I thought this would provide a great opportunity to take him in the direction of his interest. This was our first experience with a “Homeschool Day” field trip to the Fort Worth Zoo, and I just have to say WOW!  Homeschoolers show up!  I have been to the Fort Worth Zoo several times, but I have never seen it so incredibly busy!  Way to go, Homeschoolers! Today we went on a field trip to the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. It was such a great day! A little confession:  I think I might enjoy our field trips more than Clark and Luci do!
