Today's project is a paper sloyd conical flower holder. I imagine that this little project would be lovely in the spring when wild flowers are abundant here in Texas. Unfortunately, we are currently in the middle of winter, which features brown grass and dormant bushes. I am always excited to learn a new skill. Today, as we create our next paper sloyd creation, a pyramidal catch-all, our main tool is going to be a compass, instead of the ruler. Not to be dramatic, but I feel somewhat triumphant, as we have just completed our second year of paper sloyd. As a homeschooler, I had read about the importance of sloyd, but it was this mysterious mountain that I was too overwhelmed to climb. Today we will be making our final model in our second year of paper sloyd. We will be making a pen box, which is project #14 from the second year, from the book Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades by Ednah Anne Rich.
